[SOLVED] cant shrink or expand beatgrid intervals in 3.1

I cant shrink (or expand) the beatgrid intervals. i click on the shrink / expand buttons and nothing happens.

i'm able to shift the beatgrids left/right and also doulbe/half BPM but NOTHING happens when i try to shrink

the beatgrid. I NEED to change a deep house track that was analyzed at 153 BPM  when it clearly isn't.

@DubLN > What kind of media file is it? I was able to adjust the grid in every manner no problem here on a WAV and MP3... could you post the file?

i actually cant do it on ANY track at all! could the software be corrupt?

This is how I'm trying it:

  1. Load song from collection

  2. hit the grid button

  3. set the first beat of the first bar to the proper position

  4. Hit shrink (or expand) grid buttons.

NOTHING happens.

Just tested it on my other laptop running windows 7 and still NO CAN DO.

looks like a major bug in 3.1?

after further testing i have found a work around. I can shrink/expand beatgrid only if i have the

track paused somewhere OTHER THAN the first beat of the first bar. In other words if I pause

the track at any point, say the second beat of the first bar for example, then it works.

Am i correct in assuming that this is a bug?

I'm not sure but I'll post it to the engineers for further inspection.

Engineers have replied:

When the Expand or Shrink button is pressed, the beat interval from the first beat to the nearest beat from the current playback position is expanded or shrunk by 1msec.  If the playback position is on the first beat, grid intervals cannot be expanded or shrunk. More precisely, the playback position should be at least a half beat away from the first beat.  The further the playback position is away from the first beat, the more accurately beatgrids are adjusted.  This is why the beatgrid adjustment will not work if the nearest beat falls on the first beat.

His comment in the thread is the right way to adjust the beatgrid.
