Ddj 1000 jog display goes blank

I've had this problem for a while now, when I play the soundwave on the jog display disappears and its just a black background with remaining time, key, bpm etc. The only way to fix this, is to turn the controller off & on again, which I can't do on a gig, and it may happen again anyway. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix? Thanks!
