Rekordbox wont connect to my XDJ-RX

I have recently updated to Rekordbox 6 and when i connect it to my laptop via the link cable, no tracks load and i am unable to control rekordbox with the controller. The button comes up to say link the device but nothing happens when its clicked. When i go into audio settings, select the audio device and pick xdj-rx asio i get an error message so im not sure if this has something to do with it or not but could someone help me out?
