Alternative type of hardware unlock

I'm still having this really annoying problem when I want to use RB6 with a Nexus 1 in a club, but cannot due to the licensing restriction (or paying for a month just to use it one time).

Again, before someone says "use the USB" - I can't, I'm using FLACs and also rely on *colored* cue points to quickly find tracks/navigate.

How about thinking about a slight change of how it works?

Each device has a unique serial number right, so why not make the hardware attach to a pioneer account when activated. If you want to use it on another account you need to unlink it first.

It's still hardware unlocking, but now we don't need to have the device plugged in all the time to be able to use it.

Sorry, no plans to change that, and the serial number is not communicated otherwise it could easily be spoofed.

It wouldn't matter if it was spoofed, as it couldn't be added to another account until removed from the one it was already on (basically just like the serial numbers of olde).

Ok, if that really can't happen - then how about day passes for licenses then, buy them in packs of 5 or whatever if singles are too much hassle?

So DJ 1 goes into the club, has the deck serial associated with his account, DJ 2 comes into the club, connects, but can't use it because DJ 1 has it on his account...?

What? Haha - of course not.

No - DJ has a DDJ at home, so unlocks RB6 - then goes into club and can use HID mode CDJ NXS 1 (or whatever) without needing another unlock.

If he sells his DDJ, then he removes it from his account and the buyer can use it to unlock theirs...

So back to the old license method then...

Sorry, no plans.

No, sorry - the newer hardware products all act as unlock devices so there are no plans for any other licensing options.
