Rekordbox Midi Mapping

Hiya,

I'm a traktor vinyl scratch user, however I really love rekordbox dj at the moment and will most likely buy the plus package with control vinyls, as I think its a much nicer software.

I do however have a midi controller (gemini g4v) which I use for more commercial gigs.

I understand the Jog wheel is not able to be mapped, which I think is a huge shame as it really limits me on my existing controllers.

Ive mapped up everything on the G4v (really love the midi mapping interface over the traktor one) but I have no access to the Jog wheel which just defeats the point of DJ'ing.

When do you think the Jog wheel midi mapping will be released? its a deal breaker

My guess is never. This restriction does a couple of things...

1) Encourages users to purchase Pioneer DJ controllers (good for PDJ sales!)

2) Limits the number of controllers DJs are likely to use in the rekordbox ecosystem, making support easier as it's really "our own products"

So no, I don't see them ever opening this up to other hardware, just like Serato DJ allows for MIDI control with non-Serato DJ-compatible devices, but no deck/jog control.

@Phil > I had to plug mine in to verify...

Unfortunately, the answer appears to be no.

Pulse, funny In Serato DJ I can program the FX Slide Bar to not only do needle drop but Pitch and platter hold....

It may be something to consider modifying to allow for.

I understand, but there are restricted functions on the XP1 and within rekordbox as well. We are hoping that MIDI mapping improves to provide access to more functions in a future update.

@Yusharie > There isn't one; any 3rd party controllers will require mapping by users, but please note that there is no support for mapping jog wheels of non-Pioneer DJ controllers, so you'll be left with having to use other functions.
