XDJ RX thru laptop.
I have had this unit now for nearly 2 years, and I've just realised Rekordbox thru my Laptop only shows the players down the bottom of my screen.......I paid at the time, $170 for an upgrade to put it thru my Laptop........I feel a bit of a banana, because i have been dragging my tracks from my playlist onto the players down the bottom of the screen, when I should have the full boona up the top.
Bit of a blonde moment I'm afraid....can anyone shed some light on a guy thats been DJing for over 40 years, into what I'm doing wrong???
I now understand it should look like this on my laptop.......but it doesn't
I just have my playlist and 2 small player down the bottom.

Sounds like you are in 'Export mode'. See the drop-down the in the top left corner, change that to 'Performance' and you will see the layout in the image.
These are two very different modes and require different cable connections.
Export mode, LAN cable - XDJ reads the library on your laptop.
Performance mode, USB cable - XDJ controls the Rekordbox DJ software on your laptop.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, but I have already connected these two cables to my laptop,and clicked on Performance........but nothing happens.
I'm still trying to work out what I paid the $170 (150 pounds ) for??
I'm sure it was to put it thru my laptop and required another license key??

Did you press the Midi button on the XDJ-RX to link it with your laptop?

Yes I was advised to do that after watching a stream on youtube.

I have also contacted Rekordbox AND Pioneer......Rekordbox have yet to get back to me after complaining over a year ago...........Pioneer want info back.

"Did you press the Midi button on the XDJ-RX to link it with your laptop?"....Plus I already have a LINK button bottom of my laptop screen...right next to the 2 players where i drag and drop songs onto !!
