Rekordbox does not recognize database on USB drive anymore after Ventura update

Hi guys.

I have 2 DJ computers, one Windows and one Mac. I had to update to Ventura yesterday to resolve another unrelated battery issue.  Ventura is compatible with RB 6.6.8 which I have.

I use an external drive to store my database so I can play from both Win and Mac laptop. The drive is ExtFat for that reason.

Everything works from my Windows laptop but for som reason RB on my Mac doesn't see the database. I can see the drive on my desktop but RB cannot use it.  RB have Full drive access in the security settings. Yesterday on Montery all was fine.

Extra: I also tried a fresh Mac OS Ext Journaled drive, copied my old drive to it and still same problem.

Any idea?

Thank you

Louis Garceau

Make sure rekordbox has access to your external drives; open System Settings > Privacy & Security  > Files & Folders > rekordbox > Removable Volumes.

Hey Pulse, I was hoping you would chime in. Already checked that. Any other idea?

Side note, RB can see the drive and I can browse the folders and imports music from it. It just won't recognize it as a Database master as it was before.

I have a Windows laptop hat works with that same drive.

Thanks

I've removed the "workaround" because I know that is a viable solution for reading the library, but there are some other issues I can't disclose, for which reason I will not recommend anyone attempt to use that for the time being.

Our engineers are working on a solution for this issue and thank you for your patience.

Hi, I understand but I wish you would have suggested an alternative then.  Do we have a time frame for the next version?

I have the same issue, running my database from an external SSD and can't acces that at the moment. Any chance this is solved in the near future? And will my database still be intact and useable? Would be a bummer if I lost everything.

I can reassure you, your DB should be intact. In fact, if you have a Windows computer with RB on it you should be able to open it right up unless your drive is formatted with a Mac only partition.

I'm sure they are working on a quick fix. You are not alone.

Same here, can't change back to external SSD as the master database source. This is pretty major issue as I rely a lot on intelligent playlists.
