There is a safety cut off in the head phone circuit. There was a recall for the first batch of 900 released. But two head phones at once could be a cause.

900 shutting off
my 900 is shutting off in middle of set last night going into sleep mode. it did it 3 times and the sleep function is turned off. but had 2 head phones plugged in would that matter.

Hi Brandon.
When did you purchase your unit? Did you return it during the recall? Are you using headphones other than Pioneer branded headphones?

I believe its one of the recalled ones it was manufacture date of febuary and there is no white dot on side. So i assume it needs to go back

@brandon > No, that would indicate that it was updated; the problem was most certainly that you had two sets of headphones plugged-in. That would cause a change in the impedance great enough to trip the protection circuit. The fix is to either use a headphone amplifier (which has multiple outputs and is designed for just such a task) or don't plug in more than one set of cans!
