I havent did the update yet for my 2000 but as far as the sidechain oscillators go cant you route it to a different channel and adjust the volume seperately? Maybe im misunderstanding.

The much anticipated DJM-2000 firmware update has arrived - now featuring QUANTIZE!
You asked for it, the engineers made it happen; an updated firmware as well as updated drivers featuring improved support for OS X running under the 64bit kernel.
Check out the changes in this video:

I just installed and gave it a quick once over and I think this update is GREAT! I really hope that Pioneer continues to develop the mixer because this update is a revolutionary update - I'd love to see some more in the future :)
IMO this make the choice between a 900 and 2000 an easy one to make - particularly if Traktor Certification is meaningless to you.
Don't change the oscillators. They are not too loud, I just turn the volume down on the side chain effect and it was back to normal. One thing I wish they could change on the instant effect is the zip to have it work more like harmonic on a 800. Turn the parameter knob to the left and it zips high, turn to the right and it zips low. Other than that, great update. =D
* Comment: This better be good! I will investigate and report. ;)
* Comment: Where was the DJM-900 when I bought the 'flagship' DJM-2000? I'm thinking this is a better (the best) Traktor mixer.
* Idea (for later): How about quantizing the DJM-2000 affects with Traktor? I'm sure that will never happen, but it would be cool.
* Request: I (as well as thousand of others I'm sure) don't need to drop $4k on CDJ-2000's. Traktor is where it is at. But Traktor needs a a good mixer that doesn't feel like or sound like junk (this is where Pioneer wins) which is why I bought the DJM-2000. So please integrate with this software as much as possible.
* Comment: DUH??? Finally 64 bit drivers for OSX! So I don't have to run my $3k 17" 2011 MBP in 32 bit mode (half speed) anymore? Macs have been 64 bit forever. This should have been part of the DJM-2000 launch.
* Thanks: And thanks for the OSX aggregate tool. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
* Thanks: Not to complain too much ;) But hey, very excited. Thanks and ton for the update. :)
@IceCream, the osc is way to loud, imho the volumebar should be 0 dB in the mid where it is when activated. going red is big nono and imagine all dj's that
All dj's that are new to the mixer and starts clipping the shit out of it.
rsv1 new to this forum just want to say brilliant update and thanks to all the people at pioneer one last thing really wish melodic could be installed one of best fx I've heard in years & thanks again
Filter and Reverb effects are better especially the Reverb.
The Noise and Sidechain are far too high and bring the saturation really very unpleasant. The level of the version 1.28 was good.
The Oscillator4 is much better than before.
I think the most urgent is to make a new update to reduce levels of Noise and Sidechain.
And then:
- Improve the Quantize (see to put the correct bpm as the CDJ2000 with decimal xxx*, xx* bpm)
- Change the Gate to be more flexible as the DJM900nxs
- Change as the Trans DJM900nxs
- Slightly increase the level of the Sidechain Sampler
Its been a long time coming but it was well worth the wait albeit a bit LOUD! but hopefully this will be sorted in the future. I too would love to see the 100% fade on the Jet that would be awesome. But overall rather pleased with the update :)
Perhaps I came across negatively, totally unintentionally. Allow me to clarify...
Without a doubt, 2.01 is an incredible update! A real leap forward.
Quantize works unbelievably well. Trans has new life! As does Roll! The Reverb is sick with massive creative potential. And the new Filter control works like the Jet parameter should (will?)! ;-)
Sidechain - not fussed about the volume, but a tweak would be simple and I expect that'll arrive.
100% Jet fade - good to hear this is being put to the engineers again, that would be superb.
No RekordBox logo on power on though? :-) I thought that'd be a certainty!
Some feedback from my side about this update.
The Good:
- Improved Filter
- New Reverb
- Quantize
The Bad:
- Osc & Noise are too loud
- Quantize doesn't work very tight on all effects
- No fade on inst fx
Because it seems 2 treats are running parallel about this topic I post this here as well:
Jap, it isn't just the fade of the jet, I think, the faders should get a 100% fade as well!
I have done a little list, with wishes an suggestions! Maybe, it helps and we can discuss about it:
MUST HAVES:
- The mixer definitely needs a 100% fade of the jet AND the filters in the inst fx section!!!
- The gain/volume of the noise and side chains MUST set down maybe to the old level or a bit increased! I nearly blow up the sound system when using it the first time!!!
WISHES:
- It would be nice to have the full bpm in the screen (with decimals), f.e. 128,34 bpm!
- @ The new reverb, it would be awesome to set the length of the tail by turning the freq. knobs from 12 to end, like in the echo! Then you've got the ability of room changing and of length of the reverb! This is very important by doing some melodic music (Trance, House), because you can splash out vocals or melodies without changing the pitch like with the room size :-)
- It would be awesome, when you using the side chain sample, that if no frequency is selected, you get a 4 beat loop to play with, like a roll! Imagine how crazy stuff you can do by changing the pitch with a finger
- And also, if no frequency is selected, you can use the oscillators 1-4 as a drum pad, just by hitting the touch screen! :-)
- And maybe, it should have a high pitch at the zip effect too, but I don't know exactly, how to realize it with the parameter knob... (Your creativity is asked!!! J )
- New Effects to the side chain
I hope, this become listen to! :-)
THX, Greetings!
can someone please explain this "fade"-feature request of filters and the flanger?
Jep, it means, you can fade the effect jet/filter totally out like in the beateffects the phaser with the level/depth knob!
Now you can only manipulate the intese of the effects!
i really love how the filters work, i cannot imagine how the filters (of the instant effects) could benefit from
You have to read carefully!!! I wished that you can totally fade the filter out, not change the curves or, if you say it like this, "the sound"! I explain it for you:
The parameter knob of the filter f.e. is for the curve instensity (filterresonance) of the filter! I think the best soluten would be by turning the knob totally left the resonance would be dead, so, the filter would be off! When you start turnig it richt it'll be the same filtercurve as now. I love the filter as well, but I definitilly need a totaly opportunity to fade it out, f.e. when you filtering some vocal stuff in breakdowns!!!
I felt good ... but this nexus top: X pad, spiral, echo dub, space, melodic. New effects are more functional. I'm thinking of selling my 2000 Djm and get the nexus.
we'll have an update will be even better than that?
@edu yeah the nexus is a great piece of kit but it all boils down to what mixer suits the DJ best if you want a mini studio at your fingertips then the DJM 2000 is the best way to go, where as if you are more traktor and effects based then the nexus will suit but at the cost of connectivity to DJ Link the nexus with more than one CDJ you need a switching hub so thats more expense thats what put me off as im running 2 CDJ 2000's and 2 CDJ 900's with the DJM 2000 so it kinda made sense not to go down the nexus route even if the effects and XPad are sweet as hell. Sorry got a bit off topic there =/
I love the update.. Quick question, and it might be a little silly. Im normally good at these things..
In regards to the new drivers.. I have installed them, however i still see the original DJM-2000 settings in my system preferences.
i have attached a picture.. My question is how do i enable my laptop to take on the 64 bit update driver??
Cheers:)
New firmware.
Reverb engaged on channel 3, track plays on channel 3.
Tryin' to cue reverb on channel - no reverb. Just track.
Tryin' to cue reverb on master - reverb is here. With track.
Bug?
@Thomas Robertshaw: if you open System Preferences - you should be able to right click on the old DJM-2000 pane and tell it to remove it.
RyanTV - Thank you so much. I deleted the old drivers and installed the new ones. Still shows the same layout in my screen shot that I posted.. Is that accurate or am I missing something?? lol:)
Cheers, and thanks:)
That is how it should look. You choose how the ins and outs are configured. I typically use 6/2 @ 16 bit.
Have you connected your mixer to make sure it is finding it?
RyanTV - Thanks, everything is working fine... i just didn't know if it would show something new. I thought maybe it would say something about the 64bit.. Everything is working fine though:)
@ DJ Madman:
Yes, you're right! Is there any reason why you can't prelisten the reverb over the channel cue?
hey guys. just a lil issue im having here with connecting djm 2000 with tractor 2.0 .i just installed djm 2000 driver so,,, the settings are in 6/2 (16 bit mode ).
now, when i open traktor 2 i go to my " audio setup - audio device : djm-2000 output ( coreaudio ) is selected. but when i go to " input routing " i cannot select my channels to either a,b,c,d decks. how do i solved this problem .. please help..
sorry guys silly me,, i solved the problem..lol in my ouput routing i had the mixing mode in internal instead of external.. hahahahahaha..
You can't preview the reverb on the channel because it's post-fader ... and the cue monitor is pre-fader.
Thanks, Pulse!
this might sound like a silly question to you's guys, but do i need to download the new driver and install it aswell? i updated the mixer ok but im not sure if the driver has to be done separately, or was the new driver automatically installed when i done the firmware?? help!
