@aaron > Yes; they are two separate things.
You asked for it, the engineers made it happen; an updated firmware as well as updated drivers featuring improved support for OS X running under the 64bit kernel.
Check out the changes in this video:

@aaron > Yes; they are two separate things.
ok, thanks pulse, what do the drivers do tho?
Well, they're really only necessary if you use the DJM-2000 as a soundcard / MIDI interface with your computer.
Thanks a bunch for this update!
Hi everybody, just downloaded the new firmware for djm 2000, but for some reason it wont run the new firmware, ive done all the obvious things like turned firewall and airport off closed all apps down but when i double click firmware im gettin nothing.
REGARDING CAN'T INSTALL THE FIRMWARE UPDATE FROM MAC: --> WINDOWS WORKED FOR ME.
I had the same problem with my MacBook Pro. I had to use my Win7 computer and it worked fine. I think there might be something missing from the instructions. Another thing I was wondering, does it matter if the Cat5E cable is 'Straight' or 'Crossover' type. I didn't know for sure, so I went and grabbed the Cat5E cable that came with the DJM2000 just it case it might be one type or the other and incase that matters.
to DetroitJake..........Ive tryed everything exept the windows, but I dont have a spare windows computer or laptop lying around, what do I do???
Surely somebody must fix the mac firmware???
I'm guessing it works. Most all DJs use Macs. I have to image a lot of the the people that have already installed it used a Mac. They must know something we don't know, because I couldn't get it to work either. I guess hope for a reply from them. Don't worry though. Its not that cool anyway unless maybe if you are running the Pioneer software (rekordbox) and CDJ's, and you can take advantage of the new quantize feature. The effects just got louder (too loud in some cases).
Ye i suppose they should respond to this, its weird how its only me whos posted something up about this and not many other people, this makes me think am i doing something wrong, !!!!! but im definitely not because i had the old firmware from last August and that works fine.
I updated with my mac, no problems.
@phildw01 > Did you watch the video?
FIRMWARE UPDATE WITH MAC VIDEO
@phildw01: In case you missed it, this is the video Pulse had posted in the past. Old firmware, but same process.

FIRMWARE COMMENTS: OK GOOD :)
Felt like a good night to put down some 4 channel Minimal techno.
The new volume levels really cut through the mix. I like it a lot. It really gives the DJ control to make prominent transitions and punctuate as necessary. In same cases you have to be 'responsible' with the level, but I'd rather exercise a little caution and have plenty of effect headroom, than not enough available effect. This is a professional mixer, so we have to treat it as such, and not jam the knobs to max.
I'm still struggling to find a use for the 'Oscillator' effects on the touchpad. Its such a cool idea to have that big touch pad there, but it be nice if with possibly future firmware revision, Pioneer could add more effects in there or perhaps change how the oscillators work or substitute them.
I'm sure I'll find a cool use for them someday, but it doesn't come natural to me anyway.
64 BIT SOUNDCARD DRIVERS FOR MAC OSX
BTW the OSX 64 bit soundcard drivers work great!
I don't have to change my Kernel settings. Great!
Again Thanks.
I used the new 64bit drivers on my newly updated to Lion Macbook Pro and everything is working swimmingly. I recorded a few vinyl 12" that I've been meaning to do and had no issues whatsoever.
Loving playing with the new delay. Sidechain volume is a bit much, but I don't find it very useful in the first place so no worries. Quantization seems to work relatively well. Would love to see it display BPM as accurately as the CDJ-2000s though. All in all, I'm happy so far :)

@ pulse... Yes watched the video, the firmware will not open ?? It's just flashes twice, Ive got the old firmware on my mac from last year. That opens fine.
@phildw01 > I saw you commented on the video as well; did you download the OS X version of the updater? What version of X are you running?
Hi I'm running snow leopard, like I said the old firmware will start up fine, the new 1 won't.
guys i know this is off topic but can anyone help me with abelton latency issues? the djm has a noticeable lag b4 it starts and stops. please help man, major newb :) has anyone succesfully set this up and could tell me what thier settings are? im tearing my hair out with this man
Yeah, that's off-topic; please post a new thread under the Ableton forum.
@pulse yes I did download the OS X version, I'm running snow leopard in my mac book pro.
@pulse got any ideas pulse???? just updated my mac, then downloaded firmware again, and same thing again, it just flashes twice when i clcik to open firmware ????????????
@phildw01 > Again, you need to have the firewall disabled, the WIFI (airport) tuned off, make sure the computer and mixer mixer are connected via LAN cable to the COMPUTER 1 port. Do all this with the firmware update tool CLOSED and don't run it until your wired network shows up as "automatically assigned" (if you check the details, it may be a 169.x.x.x number).
@pulse, Ive done everything pulse, but it wont work. watch the video sorry if camera is a bit wobbly, did it off iphone.

@phildw01 > I've created a ticket for your issue and hopefully the engineers will have an answer for us.
Could you tell me what version of OSX you're running and on what model Mac?
@pulse, I have a MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 duo and im running snow leopard on it.
Thanks pulse
@phildw01 > Can you go to this site and tell me which kernel version you're running? I also need to know specifically which version of OS X it is; you can find that info under the apple (top left) and About This Mac.
@pulse i went on to that site and i was running 32bit but followed instructions and rebooted macbook to 64 bit ( tryed it but still blinking)
the version im running is 10.6.8
thanks
guys this is off topic but most people seem to be signed up to this thread. please check out my post:
if anyone has had a similar experience please let me know if you did or did not fix it :)

Got it, passed along to engineers, waiting on response.
