@Foster > Great troubleshooting and thanks for the detail -- but have you tried reversing the connections? (Controller in to left speaker, out to right speaker.) That will help us figure out if it's the cable or the connection on the left speaker's in.

Hey, I've noticed for the second time today, my S-DJ05's have had trouble turning on when I press the power button on the controller.
Connection:
Controller into "In" on right speaker, cable from "Out" on right speaker to "In" on left speaker.
What happened:
Power switch off on both speakers. (No lights, nothing)
Turn Power switch on left speaker first. Then turn power on right speaker second. (Red lights turn on as switch was turned on)
Press power button on controller. (Red light turns to blue and "Input 1" lights up blue on right speaker, left speaker stays red)
Trouble shooting:
Continues from Step 3 from above.
Press power button on controller again. (Right speaker turns back to red light, and "Input 1" goes out. Nothing happens to left)
Press power button on controller again. (Red light turns to blue and "Input 1" lights up blue on right speaker, left speaker stays red)
3. Press power button on controller. (Right speaker turns back to red light, and "Input 1" goes out. Nothing happens to left)
Switch off power on back of both speakers. (Red lights go out on both speakers)
Switch on power on back of both speakers approximately the same time. (Red lights show up on both speakers)
Press power button on controller. (Red light turns to blue and "Input 1" lights to blue on right speaker, left speaker stays red)
Press power button on controller again. (Right speaker turns back to red light, and "Input 1" goes out. Nothing happens to left)
Switch off power on back of both speakers. (Red lights go out on both speakers)
Double check connections for controller "In", link "Out", and link "In". (All connections are still connected and not loose)
10. Switch on power on back of both speakers approximately the same time. (Red lights show up on both speakers)
11. Press power button on controller again. (Red light turns to blue and "Input 1" lights to blue on right and left speakers)
So it finally works okay...
I've babied these, along with all the cables. I have barely used them and this is the second time it has happened. There is no damage that I can see or could have caused to these or the cables. Everything should work perfect as I bought them new.
I would like some thoughts or help with this situation if possible please.
Has anyone had any troubles similar to these with their new speakers?
Does anyone have any idea why mine might have been so difficult when trying to power them on from the controller?
Could it be a faulty connection or cable even though I thought all my cables we connected as the should be?
Is there an order of how I need to power on these speakers? (Right to left instead of left to right... the same time...)
Should I contact Pioneer on the phone about this issue?
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Pulse. I will switch the cables around now but it might be a week or so before it acts up again like last time.
I will report back if it does it again, or in a couple weeks if nothing.

I switched the cables around yesterday, and surprisingly it did it again to me today. This time the exact same thing happened, except it was the left speaker turning on and the right speaker not turning on.
Set-up is now:
Controller plugged into "In" on left speaker, link from "Out" on left speaker to "In" on right speaker.
Here's what happened this time:
Power switch off on both speakers. (No lights, nothing)
Turn Power switch on right speaker first. Then turn power on left speaker second. (Red lights turn on as switch was turned on)
Press power button on controller. (Red light turns to blue and "Input 1" lights up blue on left speaker, right speaker stays red)
So I repeated the following:

Press power button on controller again. (Left speaker turns back to red light, and "Input 1" goes out. Nothing happens to right)
Press power button on controller again. (Red light turns to blue and "Input 1" lights up blue on left speaker, right speaker stays red)

So this time, I switched the cables around, and I also switch what speaker I turned on first. This time it did not require me to touch the cables in the back though and everything worked after turning them off and back on again.
Could it have something to do with which speaker I turn on first?
It's very strange because I turn on the speaker that is connected via link from the other speaker and is not connected directly to the controller. It makes me think I need to turn on the speaker that is connected directly to the controller first, but in my troubleshooting this second time, I still turned on the right speaker (not connected directly to the controller) first. And it worked after that...
I'm just really confused by what is going on and annoyed I have to keep playing around with them as it seems like every other time I turn them on.
Please let me know what you think and if you have any thoughts or suggestions about the set-up or something for me to try.

@Foster > I have mine on a power strip with the rest of my gear and leave them turned on (so when the strip is turned on, they both go to standby mode), and use the remote to power them up. I've never had an issue with sequence of powering up, but with your problem, it would seem the connector cable could be the culprit as the problem speaker reversed when you switched the in/out for that cable; it was always the "downstream" speaker which had the problem.
I would contact Pioneer tech support in your country (links are at the right) and explain the problem, even pointing them here to this page if it helps speed up the process, and see about having them replace that link cable. Hopefully that would resolve the issue.
There is no damage that I can see or could have caused to these happy wheels or the cables. Everything should work perfect as I bought them new.
