The DEMO version is a full version of traktor wich works ONLY 30 mins. It's doesn't matter if your unit is second hand or new, if you follow the install steps described in manual or on the internet, it is impossible not to work (it's like installing it on another computer). The traktor version which came by default with your unit is a manufacterer edition so, it has some limitations.

フォローするDDJ-T1 Effects mapping not working/need help
The effects unit 1 and 2 on/off buttons (The 1st button of the effects section, just next to the advanced/chained button, just below the dry/wet knob) and the LEDs associated with them do not work by default. Every other button is mapped and working fine, including the effects unit wet/dry knobs.
I am also having this problem with the advanced/chained button and the light next to that but i just attributed that to the fact that Pioneer edition of Traktor doesn't allow you to do advanced effects. At least with the version I've got (1.2.8) Is this right?
I'm waiting for native instruments to get back to me with new serial number to update to version 2. Sadly I bought this unit second hand so its been more of a mission to get it all working.
The buttons themselves are not physically broken, as I can "learn" in custom mapping and they are recognised by the software. I've tried importing default .tsi file for the controller many times and every time I have the same issue.
The funniest part is that when I first installed Traktor as a demo (because I was waiting to get the serial number associated with my account rather then the previous owners) , I was able to run the setup wizard and everything worked perfectly, including advanced effects (presumably the demo was for the full version?. Now when I run the setup wizard it just jumps to the end screen/finish straight away, all I can do is click finish, no option to select anything else.
HELPP :)

@Ryan > The effects buttons and knobs will not do anything unless you're using the Pro version of the software which allows for the advanced mode.
So how do I turn on the effects in chained mode? the wet/dry works and each of the three individual effects knobs works but I can't turn them on unless I remap the button. I semi-successfully did so, but not perfectly.
Basically I need some mapping advice. a link to a tutorial/walkthrough explaining the different aspects and what they mean would be aweesome, I googled to no real avail.
by the way, I've had the same problems on both my laptop and my desktop.
ok this is just straight up ridiculous. My product is so close to working, ALL i need to be able to do is turn the effects on and off. I should be able to use the effects in chained mode, I've come close to midi mapping it myself but no cigar. can ANYONE help me rather then just ignore me?
There isn't even an ON/OFF button in traktor!!???! WTF PLEASSE HAVE A LOOK AND TELL ME WHATS GOING ON?
Okay, this is the same problem I'm having.
Basically having to turn on and off 3 buttons rather than having a master button to control all 3 effects at once.
I am using the Pioneer edition of Traktor (edition 2). Basically what you get fro free with the DDJ T1.
Actually having read Ryan's post in more detail, these are ALL the problems I'm having so hope this can be solved.
Ryan, do you also get sound coming out when your gains are right down. I'm having this problem, and haven't a scooby doo of where I need to go to change this. Pulse recommeded it's a mapping problem, but my DDJ has been set up out of the box, so not sure why this problem would exist. If you can help me dude, that would be great..
Pulse, my DDJ was second hand, the guy literally used it once at a bday party and already owned Traktor. My question to you is if you change mapping on the controller, then do the settings sit within the controller or in the sopftware. i would assume software.
Thank you,
Jason
@Jason > There is no single "on/off" button for the effects using the T1 edition of the software as it doesn't have the advanced effects mode; you have to press the button below each knob to use the on/off for that effect.
Thanks Pulse. I have now discovered this so will be upgrading shortly to the better edition. I think it's a bit of a shame that you get something out the box that has buttons that don't work though.
Ryan, it would seem that the dry wet button doesn't activate until you are using the full version of Traktor Pro 2. Do you have this or the version that came with the T1, it's about £120 upgrade fee.
Sorry, delayed reply. I'll reply to your messages in sections:
"Basically having to turn on and off 3 buttons rather than having a master button to control all 3 effects at once."
This is similar to the problem that I'm having, except the effects will not work AT ALL unless the master effect button is not on. As far as I was aware that is how the device is designed. However, my on/off button doesn't appear in Traktor, nor does it work. If I try to do what you do and do each effect on it's own, the effects simply do not work.
"Ryan, do you also get sound coming out when your gains are right down."
From memory I have had that problem once. My gains are almost always halfway. My gains tend to play around a little bit but I think this is more likely to be MP3 problems or the general design of traktor and the ddj-t1 that is causing this.
"Ryan, it would seem that the dry wet button doesn't activate until you are using the full version of Traktor Pro 2."
I have no intention on upgrading soon. My DJ skills are not worth $120 yet. I'll get better at beatmatching etc. before upgrading, I just hope my DDJ-T1 works perfectly at that point.
I have since figured out how to get my effects button to work, but it is not exactly desirable having to midi map stuff myself, and there are a few issues (like random lights coming on/not being able to use the effects on deck C or D) Right now I have a 2 channel mixer rather than 4 channels.
@Ryan > If you're using the T1 edition, you do not have a master effects "on/off" switch, each individual effect has its own. Are you engaging the FX1 / FX2 buttons on the channels to assign them?
If you are having problems with the audio coming through when the gains are down either you haven't "picked-up" the software control with the hardware (try rotating the knob all the way to each side first) or you haven't got your audio settings configured properly.
If you're having problems with 2 decks not working, it sounds like the hardware or software isn't configured as it should be - update to the latest version of Traktor then run the setup wizard, selecting the DJM-T1 as the hardware.
Hey there,
i got a similar problem. Everything in the software works synchronous with my Hardware (DDJ-T1). If i rotate the FX knobs, them rotate in the software. Too the On/Off button lights on both and i got Chained mode. I now have selected a FX on every knob, but if i´ve playing a song and want to play a FX on it, I push the On/Off button so it lights up and rotate the knob. The problem is i dont hear no change cause no FX is playing. Even if i rotate the Dry/Wet button nothing changes. On my Labtop (Windows Vista 32bit) everything worked fine from beginning, but since i switched to my new Desktop-PC (Windows 7 Proffesional 64bit) this doesnt work any more. I´m up to date and got the newest version of Traktor 2 (DDJ-T1 Version).
I´m asking for help and say: PLEASE can anyone help me? I can´t work without FX.
Thanks in advance!
Martin
@Martin > Did you assign a channel to the FX bank by pressing the FX1 or FX2 buttons above the channel fader?
@Pulse > First sorry for my bad english. I dont know what u mean with that. I´ve allready looked the options and normaly i got the right settings. I didn´t found anything where i can lock or unlock my FX. i only can assign them to deck A, B, C or D. I only use deck A & B for now and FX1 is set on A and FX2 on B.
Thanks again!
Sorry! i miss understood something. Yeah i forgott to assign them.
Big thanks for your help!
Best regards, Martin V.
Hi Pulse, I bought my DDJ-T1 in March 2011 and have since upgraded to Traktor 2. I had problems with my windows based PC and then purchased a Mac to go with it. Everything worked well for a time, but now I have found that when I'm trying to turn up or down the volume from the gain knob (no matter which of the 4 channels) I find that I have to quickly turn the knobs all the way down/up then back to where I want for it to respond.
Can you advise why I have to do this, as I would've thought that it should be responding to small gradual changes as they're requested? Is it a fault, perhaps with the software or controller? It's frustrating and causes issues when recording my sets.
Thanks.
