XDJ-RX problems!

If you are having freezing issues or MP3's playback issues, I think I know what the problem is.
I own 6 of them now for my company. They do a great job, but we are having issues playing MP3's.

We only use thumb drives to play all of our music.
90% of the thumb drive music is run through Rekordbox.
The other 10% of the MP3's are just dragged and dropped into a folder on the thumbdrive.

The player is freezing completely, Showing Error codes(8305), etc. When it freezes, NO buttons work! Even when I turn it off, the screen stays on!

I found out that the only problems we have are with songs and folders that have NOT been run through Rekordbox.

I actually had the same problems with our old players (MEP-700), of which I had 9 machines. How can We still have the same problems as a machine that was developed 8 years ago? Come to think of it, My CDJ-2000 NEXUS's also had the same problem. (had 6 of those too) What is the real problem? Why does pioneer gear have to have MP3's so perfect? My computers have no problem with any MP's that I play on them!! So, frustrating, it is beyond belief!! :(

I ran all of our MP'3 through some file scanning software, and that solved the problem with the old player freezing. Even songs I got brand new, downloaded from POOL Online, legally, had errors in them right off the bat. Ridiculous! Not sure about the XDJ-RX yet.

The software is called MP3val. So far it has helped, and it is fast at scanning and fixing. Does anyone know another software that is good to use?

Hope that can help others out there. Thanks, Adam

I've seen 8305 as an MP3 error, generally a bad encoding. The reason any pioneer deck will reject the track is it needs to play the track in lock step, otherwise you'd have a hiccup in tempo. A PC or ipod will play it and just throw a glitch and keep playing. If I were beat matching with another track, it'd suddenly jump off and that would be an issue.

MP3val is a great program to scan your files, and yes I've seen crap come out of both beatport and juno. Personally, I use a perl module to scan tracks in a bigger script for managing my specific tasks before importing tracks into my library, but that's just me...

Mp3val is a good choice to control all your files it's fast and perfect to use with all the pioneer stuff. Otherwise decode and encode the files manually if you find out which files crashes.. Use special lame encoders they are working good... I use that with a special gui otherwise you have to put it all to a command line...
