@stuart and @Ciaran > If you have tested it and are certain that the MIDI signal stops being received by the computer, please contact a Pioneer technical support center in your region to have your hardware inspected and repaired.
I'm using a macbook pro i7 processor with 8 gb ram, running OS 10.9.5.
I often face the problem where the midi stops (traktor cannot be controlled by the hardware ie. XDJ - R1) but the song is still running. That means that the XDJ - R1 still works as a Sound Card but cant be used as a controller. It only works again if the midi wire in removed and reinserted or the unit is restarted. But even after restarting the midi again stops which make the XDJ - R1 useless as a controller. Ive tried changing the midi cables for high quality cables, running the latest firmware and all latest software's.
Please help me sooner.
Thanks & Regards

@Sherwin > Could you please download MIDI Monitor and test the signal from the R1?
I would like to diagnose if the R1 stops sending or if the software stops receiving.
You can use the MIDI Monitor while you're using Traktor and if Traktor stops responding, switch over to the MIDI Monitor and see if movement of the controls on the R1 results in data received by the monitor.
I have also had the same issue using xdj-r1,mac and traktor pro2. It seems to happen randomly about every 3 months or so when doing gigs which is really frustrating. What i have noticed it always seems to be if i have used the platter on deck b. I had thought issue was traktor but now not so sure, i restart traktor but sometimes has to be done 2 or 3 times before controller seems to respond. If system has frozen i have had to switch to cd to buy myself sometime but even at the weekend deck b cd stopped and sound distorted. Any thoughts as i was going to take xdj-r1 to a pioneer service centre.
I have started having the same problem in the last few weeks, but with windows. I used midi monitor and it does not read the xdj so the problem is the unit. It was happening before with the left jog dial, it would stop working every now and then, it would work fine when i switched to usb or cd, but to use it again with traktor i have to restart the unit. Recently when using the jog dial the midi stoped working all together, i have no control with traktor and have to restart the unit over and over or turn off for a few hours.
