What size usb stick required when syncing playlists

I am unsure when I'm adding playlists to a memory stick, what size memory stick is required? It will on tell me once the files have downloaded but I could do with knowing how much I can fit on before I sync!?

@Andrew > If you click on the device itself within rekordbox, it will tell you how big the device is and how much space is available:

The bottom-right corner of each playlist will tell you the size of the playlist and its files:

...but here's the thing - even if you had two playlists totalling 500MB, if those playlists have overlapping tracks (tracks that exist on both playlists), the actual total of audio files to export will not be 500MB. If those audio files already exist on the drive, it won't export them so the space required may be less than the actual size of the playlist to be exported.

It's not the files associated with the playlists and other metadata that fill up the space on USB flash drive, it's the actual songs. Figure the average mp3/compressed audio file format is around 10MB (give or take) per song. Around 100 songs would be a 1,000 or 1GB. So, a 32GB SanCruzer flash drive could fit around 3,200 songs (give or take). In other words, you can add quite a few songs/playlists without having to worry about space. Cheers.

Thanks for that but that wasn't the ideal answer I was looking for. With all the bells and whistles Rekordbox box has why can't it simply say at the bottom right like on iTunes or after syncing how large highlighted files are before you start the sync process. There has been occasions where I have selected the playlists I require to be sent to USB, waited 3 hours for them to sync to then find the final 2 or 3 playlists haven't been sent due to space left on the USB. I just want an easy life without doing maths. I hope this explains my problem better.

Gotcha, now I understand. My apologies for the miscommunication.

Your idea is a good one, I'm afraid @Pulse would be more adept in providing a more through response. Give him a couple days to respond because it's the weekend, but I'm sure he will follow up. Cheers.

This still is kinda mysterious. I really reckon a 'sync manager' to give you this information. I kinda visualize a progress bar showing how much of the available diskspace is being taken by the given selection of playlists/tracks..

Look to the lower left for a progress bar, or click on the device itself to view the info page for amount of space used / remaining, plus number of songs.
