DDJ-T1 and driver issues with OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)

I did recently an upgrade of operating system on my Macbook Pro Retina to OS X to 10.11 (El Capitan) and I have noticed problems with my DDJ- T1 controller. Majority of functions (faders, crossfader, buttons) do not work properly. Please help me as I cannot use this device.

I have the same problem. DDJ-T1 controller is unusable under current version of OS X 10.11 (El Capitan). Please help ASAP.

Dear Pioneer Support,

It has been a week since the first message in this thread. Do you have any update regarding driver issues?

Hi,

Is there any known workaround or we have to wait for new driver ot work on OS X El Capitan?

I created a new partition and tried to install El Capitan 11.2 and Traktor 2.10.0 build 13.

I'm experiencing NO issues at all with my DDJ-T1, playing music for about an hour, testing nearly all buttons, fader, jogs etc.

This is a fresh install of El Capitan and Traktor. So my advice is to try to reinstall Traktor.

Please try this way and keep me updated on any thing you possibly observe.

I'm still stuck on Yosemite in my primary partition.

I formatted the drive, installed clean version of OS  X 10.11 (El Capitan) and installed Traktor Pioneer DDJ-T1 Edition 2.10.0 build 13. Then I connected Pioneer DDJ-T1 controller and I have still the same issue (most of the buttons and faders/crossfader simply don't work). I even downloaded MIDI mapping file for Traktor from Pioneer support website but it did not help.

In the next step I formatted the drive again, installed OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and installed the same version of Traktor and everything works fine without any need to configure anything. It looks to me like a driver issue as drivers for some other DDJs required an update after release of OS X 10.11 (El Capitan).

I tried similar steps to the ones listed by Mark in the previous post. I did fresh installation of OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 and then installed Traktor 2.10.0 build 13. The controller did not react properly to pressing buttons and using faders. I had to downgrade OS X back to Yosemite in order to have it working properly.

Pioneer Support,

Do we have any update on this issue from your engineers?

@Mark Burke

The fact is that there is no driver at all for T1, it just acts as a MIDI controller, using the integrated MacOS driver.

I have formatted the drive again and installed OS X El Captain with all recent updates 10.10.3. I have installed latest version of Traktor DJ on top of it and...it started to work fine. I can't explain what happened. Can it be due to recent OS X patches?

I don't think that 11.3 solved anything.

I personally had no issue also with 11.2.

Hello;

OSX El Capitan (Version 10.11.4) + Traktor 2.10.2 9 and fully working Pioneer DDJ-T1 ... except for the tiny detail that it downs recognise the controller as an AUDIO DEVICE... at all!!

So: NO AUDIO!

Once again, been searching all over the exhaustingly confusing Pioneer DJ websites to find: zilch! There's a lot of talk, a bunch of patches and workarounds for all the new gear ... but for the legacy gear ... gear that is actually something like 5 to 6 years old: nothing! nothing at all... fresh out of luck!

Now I have a complete useless piece of gear in my house thanks to Pioneer and Native Instruments ... thank you.

That's exactly what happened to me some hours ago.
If you open the drop down list, you will see another Ddj-T1, and by selecting the latter, you will Be OK.
Hope this helped
