What is the best USB storage device recommended for the Toraiz?

 How are you peoples?

I would like to know what are the requirements for a USB flash drive to be connected successfully to the Toraiz.

Ideally I just want to know which USB product is the best for the Toraiz (largest storage, fastest transfer speeds, smallest form factor, most reliable company, etc.)

Do I have to stick with USB 2.0?  Or can I use 3.0?

Is there a storage size limit?  Can I use 512gb?

Will the USB requirements change in any future firmware updates for this product?

Thank you!

Both USB 2 and 3 work with no issues. I have tried up to 64gb flash drives and they work flawlessly. I am using a Sony (110mb) 4gb stick, have tried cruzer, kingston all with 110mb transfer rate.

hello guys,

After talking to the production team they have tested HD/Flash drives up to 2TB in size and they work just fine. below is a link to one they tested.

https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Canvio-Basics-Portable-Drive/dp/B00N2S6W86/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1475625467&sr=1-2&keywords=toshiba%2Bcanvio&th=1

you need to format HDD/Flash to FAT32 or FAT.
The FAT32 limitation is up to 2TB.

Please take note : “exFAT” is not available. In the case of Windows OS, you might not select “FAT” or “FAT32” formatting for an external USB storage device basically.
This issue is the same as our CDJ/XDJs.”

Hope this was helpful,

Thanks

Quick question: I want to drag my Toriaz folders from the flash drives, onto the new drive I bought- is it safe to do so? I don't want to lose any data.

Feel free to answer my question above, for the benefit of anyone in the future. I've decided to just repeat the process and keep one copy for home and the other for the road.

Thanks.

@ pioneer

The instructions for the HD you recommended says to hook it up to your computer before turning it on, are you doing that with the Toriaz? The Toriaz manual says to do the opposite.

thanks.
