The Surface / Pro units have never really exhibited decent performance ability with rekordbox, I'm not sure if it has something to do with their USB architecture or what, but I would recommend verifying that your power plan settings are set to "High Performance" and that you have disabled any background tasks, including Cortana, search indexing, any 3rd party security / antivirus applications, etc.

I am keen to learn about the outcome this issue. Were you able to fix the buffering noise you described?

Really wish I knew this before I bought a new Surface pro 6, has there been any update on this?
I'm getting a static noise coming through the speakers which I do not get if the decks are on standalone mode, was planning on upgrading from the RX to the ddj 1000 but there's no point if the sound will be distorted

You could try using a USB hub, as the noise is essentially interference from other components and the USB chipset onboard the Surface. An alternative may be to try a ferrite core on your USB cable.

Thanks for the reply,

Yeah I'm using the

Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub

and I've tried without the hub but there's no difference. You guys could just release a standalone 4 channel mixer though ;)  Is this something that we will see in the future?

Give the ferrite core a try on the USB cable a shot and see if that helps - it could be a cheap fix.

I tried everything I could but Surface Pro just doesn't seem to work well with Rekordbox. I ended up selling my surface pro and buying a Macbook and lost about $500. Really hope other people see this post before having the same thing happen to them.

I switched from Serato to rekordbox. And i never had any problems with Serato and the surface pro. Is kind of stupid that pioneer can fix the problem. Now i have to spent more money to get a comp that works with rekordbox.

Hi, has there been any update on this ? Don't like the idea that I'll have to rely on Serato instead of Rekordbox.

Thanks,

We recognize that there are issues with the Surface Pro in conjunction with Pioneer DJ products - unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the hardware or software will work 100% with all devices. If the controller works properly with another computer, that further illustrates the compatibility problem with the Surface Pro.

Thanks for your response Pulse.

This is actually not unique to Surface Pro. My Razer Blade also has the same problem. My friends also had similar issues with other models, particularly Dell XPS. A user just above me mentioned that this doesn't happen with Serato which makes this problem more on the software rather the hardware.

Please feedback this to Rekordbox's engineer team.

Thanks,

If the issue is noise from the computer circuitry, you can try using a USB isolator like this; unfortunately the problem is that many computers are not designed with proper separation or isolation between components such as the CPU, USB driver chipset, or charging circuitry, and stray noise can be amplified and create undesirable output through audio devices.
