Figured it out! all that was happening was it was importing to different random folders - as opposed to the one I had originally chosen it to import to. if this is happening to you, check all the folders :)

not importing
hi
i click import folder, click the folder of music. then, in rekordbox the pop up window says "preparing" then immediately disapears and nothing imports.
please help :)
