Just use the File > Library menu to backup and restore your library.

Can I keep the number of plays when exporting a playlist?
I'm going to have to format my HD for a bug in my Mac, I tried exporting the existing playlist and I keep all the tags, except the play numbers ... Is it possible to keep this tag?
