DDJ RZ Not scratching properly

H. I've just picked up a DDJ RZ the unit will only scratch when the play pause button is pressed. I bought the unit as spares or repair as the jog wheel plates are missing. Before i go ordering new parts i wanted to see if anyone else had similar issues. Is it because the plates are missing or is there a bigger problem somewhere?

Try pressing SHIFT+SLIP and see if the VINYL mode indicator in the jog changes:

Thanks I’ve tried that. Both decks are the same and both are missing the top plate. If I hit pause I can scratch ok just not when it’s playing.

Just been messing about and had a mate tell me to try putting something metal onto the contacts and this now works so the next thing to do is buy new plates.

Now I’ve found two different part numbers. One is DAH2915 the other is DAH3048 now I’m confused 🤷🏼‍♂️

"Missing the top plate" ?? You mean the surface of the jog -- the bit inside the blue ring of the photo above?
