Currently, no plans - as the ProDJ Link already does this and more. You could control / sync the DJS-1000 to rekordbox dj in performance mode using Ableton Link with either Ableton (to convert the signal to MIDI) or an app like Link to MIDI
Could Ableton Link be added to the DJS-1000? This would make it even a more awesome machine than it already is.
Theoretically, this could perhaps be possible directly via the UTP, and alternatively by converting the pro-dj-link protocol to Ableton protocol via software on the pc. There are open source tools that are already doing the last option (tested, and it works, so technically it is definetely possible).
It would be very nice if Pioneer could consider this (financial) business case. I don't think I have to explain the use cases and all potential it would give end-users.
I'm very curious what the point of view of Pioneer is about this topic.

Thanks for your quick and open response, i really appreciate that.
The ProDJ Link is more accurate than MIDI or Ableton Link and carries more data, but it's only applicable to certain applications, so I get the desire to have it embedded directly, but it's unlikely to happen.
With the XDJ-XZ, you could use rekordbox in export mode to take advantage of the ProDJ Link and sync that way, otherwise you're reliant on the XZ in performance mode and the one-way sync to the DJS over the Ableton Link > Link-to-MIDI. There is no ProDJ Link in performance mode but we hope that changes in future updates.
Thanks for your advice and insights Pulse! I did not know that the Pro-DJ link is more accurate than Ableton Link, good to know.
For know, i'll stay with the following setup: XDJ-XZ - DJS-1000 - Rekordbox Export Mode (all via Pro-DJ Link) and using the third-party tool called "Beat Link Trigger" to convert Pro-DJ-Link to Ableton Link. This tool does internal midi translation first, but since all translations are done directly witthin this software, it works pretty quick and stable. The only thing to remember here is that you need another pc for this tool to run as compared to the pc running Rekordbox Export mode (or use virtualization on the same pc, works also fine).
I'll patiently wait what the future will hold, I can fully understand that you cannot make promisses on that. ProDJ Link addition to the performance mode would be pretty cool, as well as the opposite (export mode with the addition of Ableton Link).
