Audacity would still be able to record from the selected source (in your case - the mic) regardless of the connection status of the DDJ. Simply select it from the input device list in Audacity.

DDJ-1000 kills line in on laptop when connected via USB
Hi, I am using audacity to record from a microphone, but as soon as I plug in the ddj-1000 via USD then the line in is not recognized anymore even though the windows sound settings are the same (Before and after Realtek HD audio is selected). How can I make this work (without using the DDJ-1000 Mic/Line in as that is used already)?
I am using win 10. This happens regardless of rekordbox running or not
