XDJ-XZ using USB and Laptop to play B2B?

Dear pioneer (and others),

I would like to know if it is possible to play with a USB on decks 1 and 2 while playing tracks from a computer/laptop on 3 and 4. What I want to achieve is, when playing B2B it would be nice to use have a mate using there USB and loading tracks from there and being able to adjust deck 3 and 4 with the double tab Shift button.

I managed to do this without using link mode on the XDJ-XZ, but using the link button in the rekordbox export mode. The problem then is that your only able to control deck 1 and 2 and not 3 and 4. If you use Link mode and want to load something from the USB it forces the control mode off. Not being able to control deck 3 and 4 anymore. It just seems like a software limitation.

Am I doing something wrong or does anyone have some tips regarding this?

You cannot use USB and laptop at the same time with XDJ-XZ alone.
To use at the same time, you need a CDJ, etc. that controls the laptop separately from the XDJ-XZ.

Hi Tomo,

Thank you for your response, as I said I managed to play tracks from the laptop and usb at the same time so it seems to me it is just a software limitation? It just feels like i'm missing something because hardware wise it is possible to achieve this.

If you just want to play it, you can do it with just XDJ-XZ.
However, when using USB, DECK3 and 4 of XDJ-XZ cannot be controlled. (Control of DECK1 and 2 only)
In order to control DECK3 and 4 of the DJ application, CDJ, etc. for DECK3 and 4 control are required in addition to XDJ-XZ.
