You can troubleshoot this by trying the following:

- change the USB cable

- try a different USB port (preferably a USB3 port if you have one - it provides more power to the controller)

- remove any other USB devices

- try another computer

If you still have problems, you may need to send it for servicing - contact Pioneer DJ support in your region. As it's under a year old, it would be covered by warranty.

This exact behavior is displayed in Virtual DJ 8.x if it's a cracked copy, the full legal version however does not have this issue. I think they included a trigger that detects the cracked copy and misbehaves , it does not do it right away and sometimes not at all, I think the idea is to totally screw you in a performance, I dont blame them either, I have full legal copy while some of my colleges run a pirate copy, we all use SB & SB2's and I'am the only one who does not have this issue.

Thats is assuming you are using VDJ and it's not legal, if i'am wrong then let me know and we can look further into resolving this issue. I'am very very happy with my SB2 unit and until recently has never given me a single issue, however a few days ago I tried a cheep USB hub and it fried the 3.3v LDO regulator, as I'am a electronics engineer I was able to replace the part (it's 2mm x 3mm in size, a grain of rice is larger) , not a easy task but non the less my decks are back up and working, Also I must say Cudo's to pioneer for marking the boards test points, without that information I would not have been able to repair it and we dont have a local Pioneer rep, closest rep is two countries away and out import/export regulations means I would pay the same duties to ship out and back that I would if I purchased a new unit, around $250 in duties.
