problem deleting tracks

firstly, i have had a look thru the Q & A's but not found anything that really answers this question.....so here goes.

i've had this problem for ages but only just getting round to popping the question.

i have my tracks exported to usbs, and over the course of time i find myself with duplicates for whatever reason (my own fault). now then, i want to tidy my files up and remove said duplicates but here's the problem.

what i want, it to delete the songs from the hard drive via rekordbox.

so here's what i'm doing.

1.  go on to all tracks

2. highlight the tracks i want to delete.

when i then try to delete them, some do delete (brilliant, this is what i want) BUT some of the tracks do not delete (bummer).  not sure why it deletes some and not others.

before answering, remember, i am trying to delete the tracks off the usb/hard drive and NOT from my folders stored on my laptop.  if anyone knows why this is happening i'd love to know, but more importantly i'd like to know how to go about deleting the tracks that rekordbox doesn't seem to want to delete.

i should have asked this years ago.....better late than never !

rekordbox doesn't currently delete the files when you delete them from the collection. While this has been requested many times, we haven't seen it added to the software just yet. Hopefully a future update will include it!

For the time being, the best way to do it is to right-click the song, select "Show in Finder" (Mac) or "Show in Explorer" (Windows), then delete the file, pop back to rekordbox and delete the entry.

I've actually sussed it out for those that have the same problem. I right click the contents folder on the usb, this is set to read only. Uncheck this box and apply. Once it has applied this setting to all the files / folders within the contents folder, THEN the tracks are deleted off the drive when you delete via rekordbox.
Hopefully this helps a lot of people. Therefore your response is a bit in-accurate

Sorry, I misread that you were trying to remove them from your export device.

If you simply delete them from your export device's song list, they will be removed. You don't need to change anything.
