Music files not analyzing

I just imported 15,000 songs from my internal hard drive that's located in my optical bay. I'm using a mid 2010 MacBook Pro 8 GB RAM 2.53 Ghz i5 processor, 2TB of HDD- 1TB is on the start up book HD and 1TB in the optical bay.

The files on the boot up HD analyze fine. The files on my secondary HD don't analyze. They are in the collection and can be played but won't analyze.

This problem recently started when I cloned both HD to replace the old failing one to replace with the current new ones. I've check permissions and they seem to be in order. I don't know what else to do.

rekordbox doesn't play nicely with hard drives mounted in the optical bay due the how the hardware / operating system mounts those drives - it's not properly identified as a hard drive. You'll have to put them in another location or possibly try a symlink to a folder on your main internal drive.

It has worked just fine for over 5 years. No problems at all!  If there was room on the boot up drive then I would. We're talking about 15,000 music files. I just want to get it back to working as it once was. Don't take this personally but the answer you provide seems "lazy" and not wanting to take the time to try and correct the problem. I sure with a little research and time, it could probably get to working again as it once was.

If I had always experience this issue with Rekordbox, it would be more understandable.

It's not a lazy answer - search the forums and you'll see the same answer was given there.

rekordbox does not properly address the files on a hard drive mounted in the optical bay of a MacBook Pro because of how the operating system mounts the drive.

You can try the symlink option, but I've provided the official answer.
