DDJ RX stops responding after about half an hour of mixing

Bought a DDJ RX a few weeks ago and have setup rekordbox on my 2013 macbook pro running a SSD as startup drive and a HDD as storage drive I have sierra 10.12.2 installed and am using the controller with rekordbox dj. After about half an hour of using the controller all the functionality of just about everything stops working except the play/pause buttons. Has anyone else had these issues. I will be needing the use of the controller for lots of gigs i have booked.
