Crackling Noise when recording in Rekordbox via MIDI - XDJ-RX

Hi,

I am all of a sudden getting a cracking noise over the top of tracks (almost like a vinyl crackle sound) when recording via MIDI on my XDJ-RX.

Connected to my 2015 MBP El Capitan 2.7ghz i5.

This has never happened in the past when recording.

I have tried adjusting the buffer size within Rekordbox from one end of the spectrum to the other to no avail.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Do you have any other applications running in the background that might be causing disk or CPU use?

Hi Pulse, I previously closed all background apps and rebooted without any luck. I did however have the DDJ-RX connected via a powered USB hub (HooToo).  when connecting directly to the mac I noticed a slight improvement however the crackle was still there. I might try getting a new USB cable.

Yeah, a different USB cable may make a difference - also check to see if there is anything else on that electrical circuit which may cause interference, even some power strips have been found to cause problems with electrical noise.

I've got a brand new dj250mk2 and Just got same issue on test mix using USB to windows/rekordbox.. Crackling. Low sound signal. Will try again when get chance and boost that volume dial on rekordbox up maybe? Left it on preset recording volume first go.

@brad > As I posted to another user who had a similar issue with an Interface 2, please try disabling background tasks like file indexing and Cortana, any antivirus / antimalware scanners, etc.

Next, boost the buffer (try 1024 or 2048) and then check that your channel gains on the mixer are at a nominal level.

Guys, It¨s sad that technical support couldn´t help us. It has nothing to do with performance of pc, it happens, because usb doesn´t properly supply  controller with juice. Bought usb hub with electric charger and it works without problem. And honestly, I don´t have high performing pc, My friend had a similar issue with new gaming laptop. Try it . T

@Patrik > That's not true at all - the XDJ-RX requires wall-power to operate, so that would not be an issue for the quality of a recording.

I've been having the same issue for a while now. Starting off a mix without any issues then the sound starts to deteriorate through the mix and the clipping makes it completely unlistenable. I've a 750mk2 and connect straight into MBP running High Sierra 10.13.6.

Gain is nominal, recording gain is fine, only things on my extension leads are pioneer digital equipment. It picks and chooses when it wants to play up like this and it only shows up on the recording, nothing through the speakers at all. Any advice?

Cheers
