DJM 350 Distorting

I have recently noticed a problem with the cue sound on my DJM 350, which I use with CDJ 350s:

The cue channels are distorting through my headphones.

The master cue also distorts through the headphones,

The channels play fine through the master, no problems.

I have tried 2 pairs of headphones, one of which are a pair of brand new RPDJ1200s and the other Sennheiser HD25 SPIIs.

Really gutted as pioneer have been at the bedrock of all my dj equipment needs.

Any suggestions?

Shaun H

Sorry for the delayed response.  Have you got this sorted yet?

Hi Mark.

No I havent. 2 people have looked at it at 2 separate repair shops and they can't figure out what the issue is. Solders seem fine, resistors show normsl readings. Only other thing I can think of would be the Signal Processing Unit needing replacing but surely not...?

Are Pioneer going to offer any suggestions? Or even offer to look into repairing the issue? This is the first time I've ever purchased a Pioneer mixer and it may well be the last...

We apologize for the inconvenience.  If it's solely the headphone output that is distorting, it is likely a hardware issue.  If you've purchased it within the past year the unit is still under warranty.  If so, please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to setup a warranty claim.  If it is out of warranty and is indeed suffering from a hardware issue, please contact your nearest authorized repair center.

Hi again.

I purchased the unit over a year ago. The fact that there are only 3 Pioneer repair locations in the whole of the UK, none near where I live just seems to me like you dont really care about your customers, or should I say consumers....

In light of this, I would ask Pioneer to look at this as a goodwill gesture considering this is the first time I have purchased a Pioneer product and cant get it repaired anywhere.

In this instance it seems that you need to restore my faith in your products, otherwise I wont be purchasing any more.

Thanks

I apologize for the inconvenience, Shaun.  Allow me to briefly explain.  The repair locations are not owned or operated by Pioneer or Pioneer DJ.  They are independently owned electronics repair shops that have undergone training and certification in the repair of Pioneer and Pioneer DJ products.

Have you tried contacting tech support in the UK?  +44 (0) 208 836 3523

I am simply a forum moderator, not a technician.  All I can do is provide you with information and offer advice.  I can assure you that, while unfortunate, this is certainly an isolated incident.

If UK tech support is unable to assist you because your warranty has expired, I would advise you to contact a local electronics repair shop and have your mixer inspected/repaired.  I know this solution is less than ideal and I would again like to extended my apologies for the inconvenience.
