CDJ-2000NXS2 1.7 Firmware Update Still Doesn't Fix Beat Jump Issues

Congratulations Pioneer .... you guys "almost" fixed the beat jumping issues in the latest CDJ2000NXS2 firmware update. Now you can jump "8" beats ... whoopie! now we only have to press jump 2 or 4 times to jump the standard length of a musical phrase.

Pioneer has been making CDJ2000s since 2009 (8 years) and they still have not figured out that a phrase in dance music is 16 or 32 beats.

do you guys actually have "Real DJs" working at Pioneer telling you what DJ's need? cause it doesnt seem like it.  What DJ needs to jump 8 beats? NONE.  DJs need to jump the length of a phrase ... jeeze. this isnt brain surgery.

Every bit of market share you guys loose in your CDJ hardware market to Serato DJ, Trakor and your own product RekordboxDJ is because your missing functionality that these platforms provide... one of the most obvious is a full spectrum of beat jump values.  along with the obvious stuff.... midi programming & the display of detailed track info from meta data and waveforms.

this is such a simple fix...ADD 16 and 32 values to BEAT JUMP - for the love of god!!!

What are you smoking dude? They added 16 beats with the update. 32 would have been great but I'm guessing it's a hardware limitation. I'm frustrated with Pioneer right now too but let's hope this is a sign that they're not only listening to their customers but taking action as well.

i guess I'm smoking the release notes for the firmware update - cause if you read the firmware release notes you would see that the unit doesn't jump 16 beats unless you incorporate the DDJ SP1 Midi Controller.  The CDJ2000NXS2 unit does not jump 16 beats on its own. Only a max of 8 beats.

Hardware limitation is not pioneer's excuse.  The units will jump the entire length of a track.  Example - hit the loop in button on the first beat of the track... his the loop out button on the last beat of the track.  you will then observe the unit jumping the entire length of the track.  Beat Jump distance has nothing to do with it.

I think Pioneer just has a bunch of monkeys with hammers working on product design.

Fair enough. I can see how the release notes could be misinterpreted. I think they were just stating that "additionally" they added 16 beats for the SP1. It already had an 8 beat jump after the last firmware update with the SP1.

Either way, I updated the firmware on my units and it can jump 16 beats without the SP1.
