Recording to rekordbox

Hi all

I am experiencing a very frustrating issue. I have started to use the rekordbox recording feature. When playing recordings back there are the occasional skips that do not happen in real time. It sounds like a cd skip. There may be only one or two in a 90 min set

The reason I am posting on here is that I like the convenience of using the rekordbox functionality for recording but it's hard to trust it when you find a skip in the middle of your set.

I used to record to ableton and audition with no issues using the same settings in the utility.

My question is this. Would I need to adjust to a higher buffer setting to use rekordbox recording than other software such as live. Could the buffer be the issue?

Set up

Djm 2000 nxs
cdj nxs 2 x2
I5 laptop

Pro DJ link

Recording via USB to the laptop

As mentioned this only seems to happen with rekordbox recording.

Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "recording via USB to the laptop" ?

I am using the USB port on the laptop to record from the soundcard of the DJM 2000. Just to be clear I use pro DJ link and the usb connection from DJM to my laptop.

I'm confused because you're telling me you're using rekordbox to record, but you're using the CDJs with Pro DJ Link -- are you playing from within rekordbox dj or are you playing from a USB source connected to a CDJ which is linked, and then only using rekordbox dj to record your mix?

Hi Pulse, sorry I can understand where the confusion is now. I am using rekordbox but not as the full dj software (ie not using my cdjs as midi). My cdjs are linked by ethernet to the djm. The djm is connected to the laptop by ethernet. The djm is conected to the laptop also by usb from the inbuilt soundcard of the DJM.

I hope this makes more sense

So to clarify again, are you using rekordbox in PERFORMANCE or EXPORT mode?

Latency - 20.0msec

Try increasing it to 2048 samples and make sure any background tasks are disabled, for example file indexing, antivirus, Dropbox ... anything that may access the drive or take system resources.
