Amazes me that for $2000 per player there is always a board that breaks

Well, another CDJ main board down

I don't get how on each player I have owned there is always a major malfunction somewhere along the line, I have a 11 month old NXS2 that the main assembly, $500 board, Just dies. How does this happen on such expensive gear, I don't get it. THANK GOD I have a month left on the warranty but scary that I can be in the middle of a gig and this $2000 unit just shuts off and stops functioning all night.

Obviously I keep back ups and got through the night but its so frustrating, I have had a board go in the 2000, 2000nxs and now the nxs2 and its such a hassle to get these fixed under warranty by me, pioneer should let us send in broken boards and send us a new one

It's not worth their while to replace defective boards that are outside of the warranty period. You might wanna buy a service warranty similar to what guitar center or amazon offers. I know guitar center swaps that shit out without any questions.

Shit breaks though man. It's a computer. Computers die.

I'm not even gonna get into the whole "I take care of my equipment" argument because I'm sure you do. Sounds like you've had a run of bad luck. Make a decision. Is the equipment worth it to you? There are other options out there. Maybe give them a shot.

I beat the living hell out of my cdj's and I've only had one give me an issue (cdj 2000). I got lucky and reseating a few cables fixed it. It still acts up once in a while though but I get it, it's been through a lot.

I've had cdj 800's, 2000's, and now the 2000nsx2. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw.

Try not to sweat it though man, it's only money. Hah. I feel ya though, life can be a bitch.

I do baby my stuff, I'm the only one that uses them, 2-3 times a weekend for events, trying not to sweat it just sucks that within a year this deck dies. next time whichever brand I buy I need to extend warranties

No, I mean that virtually nobody else has this problem. Are you somewhere with a dirty power supply?

Thanks for the reply Pulse

I run my entire case (NXS2's and DJM900) through a battery backup then into out main DJ system which has a firman power strip. Power ranges each week obviously being its for mobile 2-3 times a week in all different Long Island catering halls

AHA! The Furman is the culprit!

Kidding.

Seriously though, we hear about one or two individuals having problems like this, but seldom is it a repeat issue. If you're already dealing with support, that's the best channel as they're the ones who can provide you with the assistance needed for these issues. They'll also have reports of the work and failures going to Japan for future dev. so as to improve components for other products.

High end electronic need a POWER CONDITIONER that protects all equipment from 1) Voltage spikes; 2) Voltage brown outs; 3) AND Ground Back feed/BLEEDS.

I don't believe that Furman conditioners protect/condition the neutral and ground circiuts.

Running your gear through a Commercial Batt Back up should prevent any damage.

This is important in Older Venues where a bad Neutral can use another Load's Neutral and cause issues.

I always had them on a battery backup, I think its just a bad unit

the authorized Pioneer repair shop STILL has the unit over a month and a half now and can't figure out what is wrong, they just keep replacing boards and still can't get it working, awesome
