Today when I opened rekordbox in the morning I was prompted with the update for version 4.3.1 to which, as usual, I clicked ok (or update) as it is usually not an issue.
Once the update manager tab had loaded the entire program crashed, update tab and all. I opened the program again to be greeted by all of the prompts for a freshly downloaded copy (ie 30 day free trial, sync with mytag etc) an empty library and a prompt to update to version 4.3.1 (to which clicking on closed the entire program again). This happened during a second and third trial of opening the program again.
Terrified I attempted to restore the library, which when achieved loaded all my songs and playlists without any preview or previously saved rekordbox specific metadata (like beatgrids and hotcues). Every song is now unlocatable and when I attempted to restore the library a second time, despite being told the library would be wiped, duplicates for every song have been created and all files are still un locatable despite there original file destination remaining unchanged.
During further trouble shooting I noticed that the beatgrid feature is now completely un usable, specifically the beatgrid itself does not load and all of the buttons in the grid section (like the first beat re locator etc) are washed out and unclickable. Additionally despite re adding the song, the sinewave preview does not show next to the song data in the library. Lastly, every interaction with the update prompt causes the program to crash.
Some relevant data about myself as a user
I run a simple windows 10 64bit OS and my version of RB is subsequently the 64bit version
I trialled reckordbox dj (30 days free) about 8 months ago and when the subscription renewal prompted, I resolved to use the free version to perfect beatgrids, playlists etc while I saved for a compatible pioneer controller.
I have NOT updated windows 10 in the last month
There has never been any issues with updates prior to this.
I like rekordbox, the feel, the aesthetic and the organisational workflow to name a few but this is ridiculous. Using serato and traktor I NEVER experienced any issues like this and no matter how much I like pioneer and your products, were this to have happened prior to a performance it would have been disastrous. Additionally the beatgrids and hotcues etc that I personally edited on the program represents, literally hundreds of hours of work across the board, though I have not lost my playlists, to lose that additional data would be....annoying to say the least.
Thank you for you time, I look forward to hearing from the support team.
