Rekordbox 5 loading tracks issue on Mac

Hy people,

Yesterday i installed a Rekordbox 5 on my Mac thas i use with my Pioneer DDJ RB controller, and i have one problem.

Therefore, when i loading new track for example on deck 2,  while the song is a playing on another deck (deck 1), the sound stops a little (lag little bit) on a deck 1.

I use before Rekordbox 4.5.0 update and everything works fine, without any lags.

Now, i am courious, is my Mac now to weak for Rekordbox 5, (its old Macbook pro 13 inch MId 2010 White Unibody), or its some problem with Rekordbox 5.

Computer specifications are: 2,4 mHz Core duo Intel processor, 6 gb RAM Memory and 500 gb HDD.

Tanks in advance, and greetins

Edvin

I'm going to be honest with you, that 7 year-old computer is near the bottom of the system requirements spec. Although the minimum requirements say a 2.0GHz processor and 4GB RAM, 2.4 and 6GB isn't much of a leap. Experiencing some hiccups like that may not even be due to the software, but rather bottlenecks in accessing the data from the drive.

I'd be more curious as to what other background processes and tasks you may be able to disable or optimize in order to get the most out of the hardware you're using.

@woka77 > You're also using a 7 year-old computer, just above the minimum spec.

I also recommend you disable background tasks and unnecessary processes and increase the audio buffer.

Hello friends!
First of all, I mean I loved Rekordbox 5 and was looking forward to its release. But unfortunately, I'm having the same problem reported by the above colleague.
I have a Macbook Pro mid of 2010, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 10 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory, HD SSD and use with my DDJ-RX.
Remember that this setting is above recommended and that you use exclusively to play. I mean I do not have programs running in the background, nor the internet ... absolutely nothing. But even so, I followed the guidance of Pioneer's official comment to increase the audio buffer. The default is 512 and I got to put the buffer in 2016 (45.7 ms) and the problem continues. Remembering that until version 4.5.0 never happened that.
I wonder if this has already been passed to the Rekordbox team and if they are already looking to solve. In the meantime, I will continue to use version 4.5.0.
Thank you very much!

Guys, i am glad that i am not the only one who had a same problem on RB 5 :D

Definetly, i am planning upgrade my Mac with ssd disc, but also i do not understand why in previous version of Rekordbox everything worked good, and now i have that problem (are the system requirments increased or what)..

In meanwhile, last saturday i played in the club about 4 hours (version 4.5.0) without disabling any processes and everything worked whell, with any bugs or lags.

Il tryn upgrade my laptop with ssd disc, and i hope so that will help, but until then i stay on Rekordbox version 4.5.0.

Cheers!!

@ Dj Player B

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro 13" Intel core 2 duo 4gb of Ram and 228 ssd hardrive and when I'm on rekordbox box I use about 64 - 70 percent of my Ram so I'm going to upgrade my Memory (Ram) to 8gb to see if that helps but in time I will get a i5 MacBook

@woka77, yeah definetly, Macbook with i5 pocessor will help, and work fine. I have installed rekordbox on my PC too (quadcore processor with 8 gb ram) witch work without any problems or glitches. So, its time to upgrade equipment i think :D. but until then i stay on version 4.5.0.
