DDJ-XP1 does it work with XDJ1000 Mk2?

Hi, just about to buy the DDJ-SP1 for my XDJ1000 Mk2's then noticed this new baby has come out. Can someone at Pioneer tell me if the DDJ-XP1 will work with the XDJ's? I don't use a laptop and only need one of these for physical hot cue buttons.

I think it's meant to work with XDJ-1000mk2 and CDJ-2000NXS2 only when in it's stand alone mode with the linked players.

Cheers for the response. Have tried Pioneer themselves but no word as yet. Come on Pioneer I have cash ready to spend on your products!!! All I want to do is hook my XDJ's up to the XP1 and access the hot cues. Can it be done without having to attach my decrepit laptop?

I've just had clarification that it currently only works with the CDJ-2000NXS2 and the CDJ-Tour1, both had firmware updates available on the 12th of this month for this to work.
With a bit of luck the XDJ-1000mk2 will have a firmware update to support this as well.
I too am hoping this happens, I've pre-ordered the XP1!

Well, that's a bit pants. Especially for you Frankie seeing as you have pre-ordered this! Would be nice of pioneer to give some confirmation of whether the XDJ's will get the firmware support for this. I would happily go for the SP1 if I were to find out the XDJ will never have support for the XP1. What I don't want to do is bite the bullet and buy the SP1 only to find the XDJ then get the firmware update soon afterwards.

Does anyone at Pioneer even read these forums? A simple yes or no answer would be nice!

Well Frankie, that truly is music to my ears! Bit confused though as recent emails received from Pioneer customer service told me a different story....

"Hi Stuart,

Yes you can use the XP1 as a sub controller but for the CDJ 2000NXS2's only.

Alternate setups will require a laptop running Rekordbox DJ."

So... If, like me, you don't wish to hook your lappy up to your system you will only be able to use the XP1 with the CDJ 2000Nxs2's. It seems if you wish to use your XDJ's with the XP1 it can only be done if you have your lappy connected. Which, isn't the outcome I had hoped for.

Do you hook your lappy up to your setup Frankie? If so, you are sorted. If not, you may want to cancel that order.

Hurrah! My prayers have been answered. The DDJ-XP1 does infact work as a standalone with the XDJ1000Mk2's. Here's what I received from Pioneer...

"Hi Stuart,

Yes we can confirm it will work standalone just like the DDJ-SP1 and the CDJ-2000NXS2 for example, no laptop needed."

That settles it then. When this badboy is released it is on the shopping list.

I'm looking at this unit too now. But someone told me it only controls 1 deck at a time and you have to  switch mode everytime you change deck. Is this true? If so I don't see why Pioneer didn't just give us the Left side for the left deck, and the right side for the right deck.

The fact they were able to make it work with a direct connection to the hardware at all is pretty fantastic. Future hardware may allow for it, but unfortunately them's the breaks!

The DDJ-XP1 has two halves the left for left deck and right for right. I have it hooked up to my laptop, my XDJ1000's hooked up to my laptop, run rekordbox in performance mode and it runs perfectly. The only problem I have had so far is with the slider effects at the side. As cool as they are, they amplify the source so if you are running close to red you are stuffed. Other than that, awesome piece of kit if you put your homework in and input lots of hot cues into your tracks.
