DDJ-RR + PLX500

I am using my turntables with a DDJ-RR.

However, I am a bit confused if I should use Phono on the turntables or line?

The DDJ-RR manual says Line, but in the past when I have used line, the quality seems to worsen.

Right now, I have Phono (PLX) and phono on RR

I changed to Line in on both the PLX and RR but it sonuds lower in quality, my technical experience with phono and line is really low on this matter.

All it's doing is pre-amplifying the signal in one location vs. the other. You're probably better to have it on PHONO on the PLX and PHONO on the mixer. If the quality is low, check the cartridge wiring.
