XDJ-RX2 Rekordbox Export Link Error E-8306

I am using a MacBook Pro with SIerra.

I am using the XDJ-RX2 with the newest Firmware (1.20).

When I connect the MacBook via USB to the XDJ-RX2 and press the link button in rekordbox everything is fine. However when I start selecting a Track on the XDJ and load it inside on of the decks I first see the Waveform and the deck is blinking. Few seconds later the displays shows "Now Loading" followed by a "E-8306: NO FILE" Error. Sometimes the deck is also empty after the "Now Loading", an additional loading then results in the "E-8306" error.

The tracks are all working fine when exported to an USB stick or while using the MIDI mode.

I expect since you have some communication between the hardware and rekordbox in EXPORT mode that you've installed the USB Link drivers. The next step is for you to follow the firewall troubleshooting steps outlined in this article. Chances are you haven't allowed all 4 of the communication protocols through.

Yes I installed the driver from this site: https://www.pioneerdj.com/de-de/support/software/xdj-rx2/

I am not using any firewall and also since the device is connected via USB this should not be a problem, I think.

Also many of the link in that article do not longer work.

E.g.

You can't get your players to link: http://forums-archive.pioneerdj.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/240103214/m/829101835

I also can link the device. Only the playback is failing..

The firewall isn't the problem but it still won't link properly: http://www.prodjnet.com/rekordbox/support/index.php?ap_lang=en&no=MAC&scr=INFO

That link redirects my to the frontpage...

The XDJ-RX2 only connects via USB as there is no ethernet connection. What is required is the USB Connection Link driver:

This is a separate download from the audio / MIDI drivers... which, apparently, aren't showing up on the German page. Try the EN-US page.

I already have that one installed sorry for not mentioning. I also checked all my networkand filesharing settings. Also turned off all other networks...

So this driver creates a usb network i see...

It is listed in my network settings and I can connect. I can even select a file and it shows the waveform for a brief moment. Then it aborts :(

Did you ever get this working?

Really piss poor support from Pioneer, I've noticed a number of threads on this issue (because I have the same one) and no solutions.

@Michael Mallett

I never figured it out with that specific device. It was provided by my previous employer with a tweaked mac osx image, which had multiple issues.

Since then I had two new Macbooks (2017 and 2015). With those I never experienced those issues. Maybe reinstalling OSX entirely could help you.

I actually found the solution! After a LOT of googling I found an old thread that mentioned nfsd, which I had running because of my use of vagrant. Renamed /etc/export to /etc/export.bak and restarted and nfs doesn't get started, and rekordbox linked
