Halftime / double time sync wrong + other issues

I was hoping to replace my Serato setup with this controller, however I’m running into some issues.

I’ve already mentioned in another thread that the crossfader is rubbish - there should be the ability to adjust the curve as per all the other Pioner controllers (I also have the ddj-sx2). Why was this removed? It makes no sense at all.

Additionally, if I try to sync a track that’s 95bpm with one that’s 180bpm, I would not expect the controller to almost double the speed of the slower track. It should assume it’s half-time and sync that way instead. That’s what serato would do. Is there any way to force this behaviour?

Thanks!

Have you ticked this box? It works for me...

Additionally - if I turn sync off on a track, the BPM does not revert to the track’s actual BPM. It stays at the wrong (previously synced) BPM. This is not desirable. It seems the only way to revert the bpm is to either push the tempo slider all the way to the top or the bottom then back to the middle point. Surely there must be an easier way to revert BPM to baseline?

In regards to turn off sync.... it is good that the BPM is not changing immediately. Imagine you Switch off sync on the track which is playing - do you want the BPM changing? I don't think so.

Pulse, does that solution only work when you’re playing with a laptop connected? Or does that setting somehow carry over to the XDJ-RX2? If so, how? I don’t want to use my laptop to perform with it.

Thanks!

Ah, see, nowhere in your original post did you mention that.

I'm not 100% sure about that with the RX2, I'll have to ask our engineering team.

Hey. I'm having the same problem and ticking that box ain't fixing it. I start a 175 BPM track with an 87 BPM and it doubles the tempo instead of hitting the nearest point where it's sync ie 87.5. please answer why this is happening. Even virtual DJ doesn't do this. Surely PIONEER can do better? Please answer because my radio shows are suffering because of this. I'm having to stick to safe tracks.

Works for me on all platforms... can you please record a video to demonstrate?

I fixed it by reanalysing the bpms under a setting that excludes half estimates. Don't pick one for DnB that has 87-90 included in it's range. Thanks though. Remember this to help others with the same problem

Or to be more specific, the deck I start on. As in the one I'm mixing moves normally but if I bring that in and then want to adjust the timing using the one that was already playing before, it just "snaps" back to where it was... Any fix for this? Surely I'm not the first to notice this? I will sue pioneer if I do not receive a response. I am of course only joking but I am also super duper serial (I am seriously you gahs)

What do you mean "snaps"? Which sync mode are you using? Beat or BPM?
