Rekordbox / Dropbox with No External

Hi Pulse, I've seen you around here a long time but never posted, I still refer to your USB Formatting video for rekordbox :P

Anyway, I want to sync rekordbox over Dropbox on both my Mac Pro Trashcan & my Macbook Pro. I've done the Rekordbox terminal trick and the playlists seems to work sync nicely, but the location of the music files is always missing. I have my entire music collection on dropbox (I dont want to use external harddrives) and it's successfully synced to both computers.
As my music library has a different path on each computer "bens-mac-pro/Dropbox/Music" and "bens-macbook-pro/Dropbox/Music" I think this is why rekordbox cant find the music files, as the user name folder is different on each computer.

I've even experimented with moving my music folder in different locations outside of rekordbox, but as it will always be under the different user name folder, Rekordbox cant find the analysis & music files.

Is there a way I could do this? Happy to email more details etc.
I'd imagine it would easily work on an external drive as its always going to be the same drive location, but really want to keep music on each computer in sync, via Dropbox also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

The nitty-gritty is the absolute path must match, if not, you'll find things don't work or go missing. Using an external drive for your music source and database is one solution which requires much less effort and configuration (and allows for different usernames), but if you want to have everything in a cloud sync, you'll need to have matching usernames / paths.

The file path to your library would have to be the same on both machines otherwise you will always get it telling you it cannot find files.

Anything is possible but I don't think there is anything right now that will solve your problem.

The solution to using multiple machines with RB is to use an external drive but i appreciate you have stated you do not want to do this. I do use this method and it works well.

I don't even mind relocating the music files each time I change machines as that only takes a second, but then the artwork and waveforms do not load, but funny enough all the hot cues etc do. :S
I've appreciated Rekordbox for a long time, but in the year 2017, the software is missing SO MANY real world features that matter, especially that it's now well into it's fourth full version.
