HELP!!! DDJ SZ2 vs DDj RZ

Ok I'm frustrated.  For years I used a Numark 4Trak with a Midi Fighter 3d and Kontrol F1 on Traktor Pro 2.

I recently decided to upgrade and bought a DDJ SZ2.  However, I really don't like Serato.  I had thought there was a map for Traktor Pro 2 or Rekordbox DJ.  Alas, there are none!  I downloaded the DDJ SZ map for Traktor and got most of it working, except to see the LED lights on each channel, you need to be in External output mode, but then I can't record anything because that needs to be in internal mode (which then causes all the functions of the mixer to really stop).

I've tried looking up and down, and Pioneer says they can't say if they'll ever get Rekordbox DJ for the SZ2.  So I am thinking of returning my SZ2 and getting something that is still top of the line but works seamlessly with either Traktor Pro 2 or Rekordbox DJ.

I do not need video so the RZX is out.  However, again, whenever I go online to find a comparison chart between the SZ2 and RZ, I find nothing!  I need to know the main differences between the two.  It sucks I won't be able to use my Midi Fighter 3D and F1 because I use those for additional effects and sampling (and remix decks).  I am worried Rekordbox DJ doesn't have remix options, and not sure hardware wise what can replace the the other items (I may get the RMX 500 for effects, but need something for multiple (more than 8) samples and loops.

Sorry so long, but I am really needing help.

1) Is there a solid 1:1 map for the SZ2 for Traktor?

2) When will Pioneer put SZ2 on as a Rekordbox DJ device (with maps)

3) If I return this device, what will I lose by going with the RZ

Thank you!

1) I don't believe so, but searching Traktor forums might help.

2) Can't answer that at this time, so for now it will not support Rekordbox (DDJ-SZ will)

3) DDJ-RZ will work with Rekordbox, so if that is your choice get it.  For Serato/VDJ/Rekordbox, go with the DDJ-SZ

Thx, but is there any big differences between the SZ2 and the RZ? Only thing I worry slightly about is RZ is locked into Rekordbox DJ. Now that is not necessarily a bad thing because it seems RB is really on par with Traktor (except being able to midi map your own custom stuff), but having options is always good.

Just hate to "downgrade" from the SZ2 to the RZ and then find out Pioneer will support RBDJ soon.  If there isn't a drop in quality (sound, features, etc) then I'd switch it.  Any thoughts? Thank you

The RZ is awesome!  You won't regret the move to it if Rekordbox is where you want to be, you mentioned you didn't like Serato.  Pioneer could announce tomorrow that the SZ2 supports Rekordbox, but I doubt it, but that's the best I can say.  Get the gear that works best for you, when you need it, and then use it.....

Fantastic stuff!  Thank you for your efforts.  I know how to import TSI files into Traktor, I'll just have to figure out how a CSV file works with Rekordbox DJ.  Looking forward to trying them out.

The SZ2 is a beast.  Was also looking into the DDJ RZX until I saw the not so "recommended" requirements would make me have to buy a whole new MacBook Pro (i7 and 16gb RAM)!  Still up in the air to keep the SZ2 or jump to RZ or RZX.  Having an opportunity to use Traktor or RB is exactly what I was looking for.  Thank you DJ Chris Damon!
