Are the USB drives formatted to FAT32 or HFS+ (Mac OS Extended)?
So now, what happens? Any suggestion? Is it possible to have a product with failure, i also have to add that has r1 has firmwire 1.12 now!
Well, for starters, if you answered my previous question, we can get things started on troubleshooting what the problem is and how to resolve it.
the usb devices tha i use are formatted to fat32, i have recently bought the console from a person, yesterday i checked that can play by a pc with traktor, but i could not use any usb device, even a friends usb that it is created on recordbox and he is using it at his console! The problem is that i use 6-7 different usb and nothing, it says not supported device! The firmwire that it has now is 1.12, is it possible to have problem because of the firmwire, i tried to change it but without recognizing the usb i could not do it! Any suggestions? I have talked with the service Intersys here in Greece and the suggested to buy other usb cheaper to try, do you think it might be a solution? That s all i know any help would be valuable, i need to know if the console that i bought has problem that can be fixed! Thanks for your time
Did you know that the XDJ-R1 requires an R1-specific database on your export device?

If you don't have that set, it won't read your USB device.
As for updating the firmware, you need to ensure the drive is properly formatted with MBR-mode, and unzip the firmware update to the root of the drive.
i do not use personally dropbox i used a colleagues and friend his usb stick that he made with recordbox and works on his xdj-r1, i did the format like the video but unfortunetely still says unsupported device for usb.
Any help? I still strungle to thing what to do
Thanks for your time!
I'm a bit confused - what about Dropbox? Did you mean rekordbox? That's the software you need to use to prepare music for use with the XDJ-R1. Did you not export music to the USB drive using rekordbox?
What filesystem did you use when you formatted the drive - FAT32 or HFS+ (Mac OS Journaled)?
yes recordbox i wrote dropbox by a mistake
the usb devices i formatted them on mac like the video link you send me on fat32
If you're not using rekordbox, you won't be taking advantage of the features of the XDJ-R1, you would only be able to load files by browsing the folder - no sorting or searching.
Do you have multiple partitions on that USB device or is it possible a "secure" type drive?
i m a bit confused about all this because at my colleage s xdj r1 even if a client bring us a usb device no matter what usb, reads everything, and now at my xdjr1 i have that problem which is hugh for me because i bought this console to have usb devices as a back up just in case something happens when i will play with traktor
only one partition excactly as the video link you send me

the patriot usb i bought it today just in case i should use somenew usb!
is it possible to cause this thing the firmwire that has on it? is there any other way to change it without usb, is there any way to get back to industrial settings? or something else? i don t know what else to thing or do?
Does your colleague's USB drive work in your R1?
no it does not work on mine xdj-r1, any suggestions? what can i do? what options do i have?
Then it could well be that the USB port on the R1 is faulty - as we've pretty much exhausted the possibility of it being the USB devices themselves.
Please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have the unit inspected and serviced. If your friend told you it was working when he sold it to you, I'd ask him to confirm when the last time it worked.
