Being the entire top half go the SP1 is useless for the NXS2's, are there plans soon for a similar type 8 pad layout just for the nxs2's? I love the idea of using the SP1 to trigger my 8 cues on a CDJ but its overkill to buy all that just for the cues when a cheaper one can be made imo

Couple of questions. Are you referring to plugging in the SP1 into the CDJ directly or using via rekordbox dj software? If the latter and you're also having problems with the NXS2 mixer and the top half effects working I'd love to know what Pioneer said as I don't think they ever replied to me when I explained the problem.
using just with NXS2'S, no laptop

I just posted this in in the "Suggestions" forum a few days ago. SP1 is about 2 years ago and in dire need of a refresh. Colored pads and and Rekordbox specific features/buttons would be nice, including the ability to change key, now that it has been introduced in RB 5.0).

thats great, I would also love one just for the CDJ's for people that dont use laptops to play live, most of the button and controls on the SP1 are usless for cdj's, the unit could easliy be but in half, or make a single 8 pad unit we can add to each deck and link them together so you dont have to waste 2 USB ports

you can connect a single SP1 to one of your NXS2 and then it can control both CDJs if you have them hooked up via ethernet. So you don't tie up two USB ports.
But I agree-- it makes sense to have a SP2 or RP1 to use with CDJs standlone (hotcues, loops, etc) and also for use in rekordbox.
that I know, I just don't want to buy one for $300 just for pads and an oversized unit just to trigger hot cues, I feel they will or should do a smaller one that will easily fit in a laptop bag and a little cheaper
