I think I understand the confusion about not being able to "stop" the track; are you pressing the CUE button on the player to which you just loaded the instant double? If so, the track does NOT load the master cue, and as such, you can't jump back there. You'd need to first pause the track, then call the hot cues. The player doesn't load these items to memory as a function of performance; you want to instant double INSTANTLY, not IN A SECOND OR THREE!
This is perfectly normal and nothing has changed from previous versions; it works the same way.
