Why Should I upgrade to Rekordbox 5.0 from 4.5?

Hello and my apologies if redundant.,

I have two systrems that use 4.5

First:

1. 2-2000nxs

2. 1 DJM900nxs

3. I use the link feature with a switch. I very rarely use the performance part of the software but like having the option. i get this in 4.5. What is the benefit to upgrading to 5?

Second:

1. Pioneer XDJ-RX

2.I use the link feature . I very rarely use the performance part of the software but like having the option. i get this in 4.5. What is the benefit to upgrading to 5?

Having these set ups is there any need for me to upgrade to 5?

and its free for me correct?

Thanks for the advice

Hi,

The upgrade is free if you have a 4.5 license just download and that is it.

Concerning why, I can tell you that the comsunption of CPU is really much lower than in version 4.5 then you will be able to take advantage of the new features such as:

- Possibility to read your Pendrives in XDJ-RX, CDJ-2000NXS or even in your laptop

- Key Shifthing

- New GUI much nicer

Look this article with some additional information:

Hi,

I have to disagree that the new GUI is much nicer. At least in export mode (which is the only way I use the software) the buttons are now all generally smaller and harder to operate with a typical 15" laptop. It might be even harder to work on a 12 or 13 inch screen. I thought all the buttons and scroll bars were nearly perfectly sized on version 4.5. Now I have to squint my eyes and lean in closer to the screen and carefully get the cursor to the exact place to use the scroll bars. It would be nice to be able to adjust the width of the scroll bars, or at least get them back to the larger size they were before. Most of the changes to the GUI have made it a bit more difficult during a live set because I always use Pro DJ Link in export mode while performing.

I also don't like that the button to set the 1st beat (in the adjust bpm/beatgrid section) has been moved to the far left. I thought it was perfectly placed before. Now I constantly have to remind myself that it has been moved out of the natural place I expect it to be.

The only reasons I can see to upgrade for me might be the simple satisfaction that I am using the most updated version. More stability during operation (even though I did not have stability problems with ver. 4.5). And maybe more accurate beatgrids after analyzing (which might save me time if they are indeed more accurate).

You should upgrade cause its like to compare 4.5 (old Audi) 5.0 (Hi end sportscar)

I have only nice things to say about RBXV, and i have both 2K CDJ and NXS2 setups, and soon a XDJ RX2 as well.

The Gui is fast and snappy, you get a better screen realestate, you have more control over what you want to show or hide. I feel the analyze and export are quicker. I ran two similar computers with same hardware and RBXV won.

RBXV are what RBX 3 should have been from the getgo

I use only RBX for my collection, analyzing, taging, and exporting.

No RBX DJ or other third party implementations involved.

Upgrading to RBXV is up to you. Its a timesaver and simple to use because of these new features.

Just the playlist import are to die for ;)

Go for it!
