who decided beat jump should be a shift function?

is there a way when in hot cue mode, to have the top row of pads for 4 hot cues and the lower row of pads for beat jump?

I cant believe this has been made a shift function, when the tracks running out I need to get back quickly sometimes.

I need access to beat jump always not just in the situation outlined above.

You can remap your pads to be whatever you want.

Is there any way to map the "double tap"?

So we could just press the hot cue button twice and it would switch to beat selector instead.

No, but I don't see the difficulty in pressing SHIFT+HOT CUE to switch to the BEAT JUMP mode.

I posted this in the beta forum a few months ago. Beat jump is commonly used. Can we use a double tap on DDJ-RZ/RX/RZX? The reason that is is better than SHIFT+HOTCUE is that requires two hands, double tap requires one so we can keep a hand on the faders/knobs or other deck, etc.

@Pulse - Beat Jump is something you quite often need to get to very quickly (you missed the play point for example) and having to find the shift key and the hotcue isn't fast.

Just double tapping the (lit up) Hotcue bank button is much faster and can easily be done in the dark.

As Harry also said, you don't need two hands to do it.

Double tapping the hotcue button seems to already do something, although i can't work out what. Just an option to change this would be great.

Try doing that with your right hand....

Also try it in the dark with the non-illuminate shift button.
