@Paul > Is the USB formatted to FAT32 or HFS+? And if HFS+, is it MBR (Master Boot Record)?
Did you use Safari to download the ZIP? (If so, try another browser).
Did you unzip the UPD file?
Did you place the UPD file in the root of the USB drive?

yes the USB is FAT32
i did use safari but after your reply i downloaded firefox and downloaded the update link again and went through the process
put the XDJ into update mode and put usb in, 45 minutes later nothings happening
yes i unzipped the upd and placed it in the root file of usb
Is the drive also set to MBR?
Yes I reformatted the USB this morning and made sure it was set to mbr...
The players don't recognise that I've plugged the USB in, the "insert USB stick" message stays on the screen with the USB slot light blinking
Have you considered using a different USB drive? What is the make / model of the drive you're trying to use?
I originally tried it with a few different drives, since your suggestions I've been using a SanDisk ultra 3.0 32gb
I would try using a different computer to format the drive, download the firmware and place it on the USB drive.
Hi, i am also having the same issue above when updating the firmware to 1.40??
Any advise please regarding the same issue? thanks
