I just moved to Rekordbox DVS, realised that 'needle drop' is not a feature, and it has been requested here (correct me if I'm wrong cause I'm trying to stay informed). I would like to know whether you, Pioneer, plan to implement this or have any news that you can share with us.
It feels a bit of a deal breaker for me, so the sooner I know if you've got any plans the more time I'll have to decide whether to keep my DJM 250 mk2 or return it and go for another solution. For the record, I'd really like to keep it.

As I said, we don't have any information on implementation of this feature, and don't typically schedule / announce those fixes in advance. Sorry.

Sorry, didn't see the e-mail notification and I'm used to forum notifications, which I think it's not an option here right now. Thanks for the swift response though, that's also something I'm not used to.

For other users that are interested in this feature, however, consider giving a +1 or click the 'up vote' next to the profile picture in the original feature suggestion (request) post that can be found here. Or just send some coffee and doughnuts to the Pioneer Dev team. That'll probably get us the feature in next day.
TBH, the +1's don't set the priority, and I think the rekordbox team is more partial to mochi balls. 🇯🇵

Major update: 'Needle drop' is actually a feature in Rekordbox 5.0.3 DVS. Go to Preferences > DVS > Control Vinyl > Needle Operation, and check the box. Only just found out.
I guess you can say my crusade was successful.
