Scanning and repairing your MP3s doesn't harm them, and if anything, it can mitigate any possible issues with a bad or damaged file causing a problem with playback on ANY device.
hello to the community. i have finished my mp3's analyze in Rekordbox (plus i have put hot cues+memory cues) . And i am ready to export to my corsair 128 Gb Voyager gtx usb stick, and play with my xdj-rx2 (as standalone mode with my usb).
I have just discover at pioneer's knowledge base a program to check if your mp3's are healthy, is called mp3val. After scan my mp3's with it (do a copy of all mp3's at a second computer as a test), it detects that 25% of my mp3's have problem. (for example it says '' Wrong number of MPEG frames '' OR '' Garbage at the end of the file '' )
What i have to do now? Will i have problems with my mp3's on rx2? Have i to repair all the files with mp3val, re-analyze all the tracks in rekordbox again and put hot cues again ? (that will be such a pain..............)
Mp3val can fix and overwrite the files also. Can i just overwrite the already analyzed-prepared files ? Or this will cause problems to rekorbox (and rx2 maybe will have malfunctions) ?
Note that all my mp3's (before discover mp3val) are 320 kb/s CBR 44.100KHZ and mp3 ID3tags (made wtih mp3 tag tool) are correct.I have no VBR mp3's and not low quality mp3's.
A friend told that if all the files play flawless on rekordbox in export mode ,they will not have problems on xdj-rx2 . Well , they play flawless (in my case, and without use mp3val).
do i really need mp3val ?

so i can just rapair and overwritte the files without my beatgrids and cues get lost or moved at wrong times, right?
No, unfortunately that will have to be redone (the grid; hot cues will remain). After an MP3 is changed, it's possible that the frames no longer align properly so it's best to re-analyse them.
if i re-analyze my beatgrids and hotcues will remain ? i knew that it will be lost and the rekordbox original beatgrids analysis will return.
Yes, hotcues remain.
thank you very much for the info.
I played over 10 years with serato scratch live (before moved to rekorbox) and never had a issue. Serato had the icon '' the file maybe is corrupted '' in front of many files, but never had problems when playing instead... so i decide to keep all my files as they are.Only if i have any problems, i will take the decision to do so much work...
