DJM T1 Sound distorted after continued period of use

I've recently purchased a second hand DJM T1 mixer and really pleased with it; However after periods of continued use the sound distorts on the left input and the only way it appears to be resolved is to turn the mixer itself off/on again. This is obviously pretty undesirable mid-mix as you can imagine. I'm using timecode vinyl with the latest/greatest Traktor (2.8.1). Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Does this only occur with one channel or both? Can you connect another input to test if it is the mixer or the soundcard causing the distortion?

It's just the one (left) channel as far as I can tell. I think there is a soundcard onboard the mixer but maybe I've misunderstood that. I've used two different laptops with the mixer and it occurs with both.

There is, I'm just trying to figure out where the distortion is occurring. If you can connect an external device and there is no distortion, it's either the soundcard, the device driver or the software.
